About the Role

Amazon Freight is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Transportation Representative to join our rapidly growing logistics network across India. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between Amazon Freight's carrier partners, shippers, and internal operations teams, ensuring seamless freight movement across our pan-India network. As a Transportation Representative, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day freight operations, resolving carrier exceptions, and proactively communicating shipment updates to stakeholders. You will collaborate closely with carrier account managers, warehouse teams, and technology teams to identify operational gaps and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and reduce costs across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage end-to-end freight shipment lifecycles, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery performance across assigned lanes and regions in India.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for carrier partners, resolving exceptions such as delays, missed pickups, damaged freight, and documentation discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Analyse transportation data and key performance metrics using internal dashboards and tools to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for operational improvement.
• Coordinate with warehouse operations, last-mile delivery teams, and cross-functional partners to ensure smooth freight handoffs and accurate shipment tracking.
• Communicate proactively with shippers and internal stakeholders regarding shipment status, escalations, and resolution timelines, maintaining a high standard of customer service.
• Support carrier onboarding and compliance activities, ensuring all partners adhere to Amazon Freight's operational standards, safety guidelines, and contractual obligations.
• Participate in daily and weekly operations reviews, contributing data-backed insights and recommendations to improve network reliability and reduce transportation costs.
• Identify and escalate systemic issues impacting freight performance, working with technology and programme teams to implement scalable solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognised Indian university.
• 1–3 years of experience in transportation, freight brokerage, logistics operations, or a related role within the Indian market.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work with large datasets; experience with transportation management systems (TMS) is a significant advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or a regional language is an added advantage for stakeholder coordination.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, make sound judgements under pressure, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends or holidays, as required by freight operations demands.
