About the Role

Amazon Freight is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Transportation Representative to join our growing logistics network across India. In this role, you will serve as a critical link between Amazon's freight operations and our carrier partners, shippers, and internal stakeholders, ensuring seamless movement of goods across the country. You will play a hands-on role in managing freight bookings, resolving shipment exceptions, and maintaining the high standards of reliability that Amazon customers and business partners expect.

As a Transportation Representative, you will work within a fast-paced, data-driven environment where your ability to communicate clearly, think quickly, and solve problems proactively will directly impact operational performance. You will collaborate closely with carrier relations teams, warehouse operations, and technology teams to optimise freight lanes, reduce transit times, and improve overall supply chain efficiency across key Indian markets including metro cities and Tier 2 and Tier 3 locations.

This is an exciting opportunity to build a meaningful career within one of the world's largest logistics ecosystems. Amazon Freight in India is expanding rapidly, and this role offers significant exposure to large-scale transportation operations, cross-functional teams, and cutting-edge logistics technology that is shaping the future of freight movement in the country.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end freight bookings and shipment tracking for Amazon Freight customers and carrier partners across assigned lanes and regions in India.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for carriers and shippers, addressing inquiries, resolving escalations, and ensuring timely communication on shipment status and exceptions.
  • Monitor daily freight performance metrics including on-time pickup, on-time delivery, and tender acceptance rates, taking corrective action when deviations occur.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and yard teams to ensure smooth load planning, dock scheduling, and carrier check-in processes at fulfilment and sortation centres.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies in transportation lanes and proactively recommend process improvements to reduce costs and improve service reliability.
  • Maintain accurate records of carrier performance, shipment data, and customer interactions within Amazon's internal transportation management systems.
  • Support the onboarding of new carrier partners by coordinating documentation, compliance verification, and system integration activities.
  • Collaborate with the sales and account management teams to support freight volume growth by ensuring exceptional service delivery to existing and prospective customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognised Indian university.
  • 2–4 years of experience in transportation, freight operations, or supply chain roles within the Indian logistics industry.
  • Strong understanding of road freight operations, carrier ecosystems, and freight documentation requirements specific to India.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) or similar operational tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or a regional language is an added advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret operational data and translate insights into actionable solutions.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation including performance-based incentives aligned with industry benchmarks in India.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for employees and their immediate family members.
  • Access to Amazon's global learning and development programmes to accelerate your career growth in logistics and operations.
  • Provident Fund, gratuity, and other statutory benefits in full compliance with Indian labour regulations.
  • Opportunity to work within a diverse, inclusive, and innovation-driven culture that values ownership and continuous improvement.
