The employer is looking for a skilled Tea Taster to be based at their Coimbatore facility in Tamil Nadu. This is a specialist role suited to professionals with a trained palate and a strong understanding of tea quality, grades, and market standards.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the sensory evaluation of teas, assessing liquor, leaf appearance, and aroma to determine quality and suitability for blending or procurement. Accuracy, consistency, and deep product knowledge are essential to succeed in this position.
- Conduct professional tasting and grading of tea samples
- Assess quality parameters including colour, aroma, and taste
- Support procurement and blending decisions based on evaluation findings
- Maintain detailed records of tasting results and quality assessments
Candidates with prior experience in tea tasting, preferably within the South Indian tea trade or a recognised auction centre, are encouraged to apply. A background in tea technology or a related discipline would be an added advantage.
