About the role
This role is an opportunity to lead software engineering efforts within the Search Platforms organisation, working on the systems and infrastructure that power Google Search. The position is based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
As a Software Engineer Manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for guiding a team of engineers, setting technical direction, and ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable platform solutions. The role requires a balance of strong engineering depth and people leadership skills.
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers working on search platform technologies
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for the team's projects
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, research, and other engineering teams
- Uphold engineering best practices including code quality, reliability, and performance
