This is a Software Engineer Manager role within the Search Platforms organisation, focused on leading teams that develop and maintain the foundational systems powering Google Search. The position requires both strong technical depth and proven people-management capability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding engineers through complex, large-scale infrastructure challenges, setting technical direction, and ensuring the team delivers reliable, high-performance search platform solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers working on Search Platforms
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for search infrastructure components
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, research, and other engineering teams
- Uphold engineering excellence through code quality, design reviews, and best practices
