About the role
This role is an opportunity to lead software development efforts focused on growing the Alexa platform at Amazon's Hyderabad office. The Software Development Manager will be responsible for guiding engineering teams, setting technical direction, and delivering high-impact features that expand Alexa's reach and capabilities.
The ideal candidate will bring strong people management experience alongside a solid software engineering background, enabling them to mentor engineers, drive execution, and collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and science teams.
- Team Leadership: Manage and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.
- Technical Oversight: Provide architectural guidance and ensure engineering best practices across the team's deliverables.
- Growth Focus: Drive initiatives specifically aimed at expanding Alexa's user base and engagement metrics.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, applied scientists, and other engineering teams to align on roadmap priorities.
