Software Development Engineer II – Alexa Connections

Amazon is looking for a skilled Software Development Engineer II to join the Alexa Connections team based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This is an opportunity to work on one of the world's most widely used voice and AI platforms, contributing to the systems that enable Alexa to connect with users, devices, and services.

In this role, the engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable software solutions. The position requires strong engineering fundamentals and the ability to work across the full software development lifecycle — from requirements and architecture through to deployment and operational excellence.

• Design and build scalable, high-quality software systems for Alexa Connections
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and fellow engineers
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments

Candidates should have solid experience in software development, a strong grasp of distributed systems and data structures, and a passion for building products that reach millions of customers. Experience relevant to voice assistants or connected device ecosystems would be an advantage.
