Senior Manager, Software Development – OpenSearch

About the role
This senior leadership position is responsible for managing and scaling a software development team focused on OpenSearch, the open-source search and analytics suite offered through a major cloud platform. The role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and people leadership, requiring both deep technical grounding and strong organisational skills.
The successful candidate will own end-to-end delivery of software initiatives, set technical direction, and work cross-functionally with product, operations, and other engineering teams to define roadmaps and drive execution. Building a culture of innovation, operational rigour, and continuous improvement will be central to the role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, mentoring, and growing a team of software development engineers
- Driving the design, development, and delivery of OpenSearch features and services
- Collaborating with stakeholders to align engineering efforts with business and customer needs
