About the role
The SAM Operational Management role is responsible for managing the end-to-end operational aspects of Software Asset Management within the organisation. The position involves ensuring that software assets are tracked, governed, and maintained in accordance with licensing agreements and internal compliance standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the software asset lifecycle from procurement through to retirement
- Maintaining accurate records of software licences, entitlements, and deployments
- Ensuring compliance with vendor licensing terms and internal governance policies
- Identifying risks related to software under-licensing or over-licensing and recommending corrective actions
- Collaborating with IT, procurement, and finance teams to optimise software spend and utilisation
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SAM operations, familiarity with industry-standard SAM tools, and a sound understanding of software licensing models across major vendors. Experience working within large enterprise IT environments is an advantage.
