Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications and microservices using Python (Django / Flask / FastAPI).
• Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code following industry best practices and coding standards.
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate third-party APIs and services as required.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to define API contracts and ensure seamless end-to-end functionality.
• Optimise application performance by identifying bottlenecks, improving database queries, and implementing caching strategies using Redis or Memcached.
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and uphold the team's engineering standards.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB to design efficient data models.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements and support deployment processes on cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of professional experience in Python development with strong hands-on expertise in at least one major framework (Django, Flask, or FastAPI).
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.
• Proven experience working with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL) including query optimisation and schema design.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git, and experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.
• Working knowledge of containerisation tools such as Docker and basic understanding of Kubernetes is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
