About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager – Talent Acquisition (Cargo Operations) to join our Human Resources team at a leading logistics and air cargo organization based in India. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for designing and executing end-to-end recruitment strategies specifically tailored to the cargo and freight operations domain, ensuring we attract, assess, and onboard top-tier talent across warehousing, ground handling, freight forwarding, and supply chain functions.
This position demands a deep understanding of the cargo and logistics industry landscape in India, including familiarity with roles such as Cargo Handlers, Ramp Agents, Dangerous Goods (DG) Compliance Officers, Freight Coordinators, and Operations Supervisors. You will partner closely with business leaders and department heads to forecast hiring needs, build robust talent pipelines, and reduce time-to-fill for critical operational positions across metro and non-metro locations.
The ideal candidate brings a blend of recruitment expertise, stakeholder management skills, and a passion for building high-performing operations teams. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our employer brand within the aviation cargo and logistics sector, contributing directly to business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive talent acquisition strategies for cargo operations roles across pan-India locations, including airports, warehouses, and logistics hubs.
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle — from job profiling, sourcing, and screening to offer negotiation and onboarding — for mid-level to senior cargo operations positions.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines through job portals, campus hiring, industry networking, employee referrals, and partnerships with aviation and logistics training institutes.
- Collaborate with Operations, Ground Handling, and Supply Chain leadership to understand workforce requirements and translate them into actionable hiring plans.
- Track and report key recruitment metrics including time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, offer acceptance rate, and quality of hire to senior management on a regular basis.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements during the hiring process, including background verification and documentation for airside and cargo-sensitive roles.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Talent Acquisition Executives, setting clear performance goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Drive employer branding initiatives targeting the cargo and logistics talent community through social media, industry events, and career fairs.
Requirements
- Education: MBA or Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized Indian university or institution.
- Minimum 6–9 years of experience in talent acquisition, with at least 3 years focused on hiring for cargo operations, aviation, logistics, or supply chain functions.
- Proven expertise in sourcing passive candidates using LinkedIn Recruiter, Naukri, Shine, and other relevant Indian job platforms.
- Strong understanding of cargo operations roles, industry terminology, and the regulatory environment governed by DGCA and BCAS in India.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume recruitment drives while maintaining quality and adherence to timelines.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HRMS platforms; experience with SAP SuccessFactors or Zoho Recruit is an advantage.
Benefits
- Competitive CTC with performance-linked incentives and annual merit-based increments aligned with industry benchmarks.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage for self, spouse, and dependent children, including cashless hospitalization benefits.
- Opportunities for professional development through sponsored certifications, HR summits, and leadership development programs.
- Employee travel benefits and cargo concessions applicable as per company policy for aviation-sector employees.
- Inclusive and growth-oriented work culture with clear career progression pathways into Senior HR Leadership roles.
