About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate and empathetic Listener (Remote) to join our growing mental wellness platform based in India. In this role, you will provide a safe, non-judgmental space for individuals seeking emotional support, guidance, and a caring ear during challenging times. This is a fully remote position that allows you to make a meaningful difference in people's lives from the comfort of your own home. As a Listener, you will not provide clinical therapy or medical advice, but instead offer genuine human connection, active listening, and emotional support to users navigating everyday stressors, anxiety, loneliness, and personal difficulties. We welcome individuals who are naturally empathetic, patient, and dedicated to supporting others' emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage in one-on-one text or voice-based conversations with users seeking emotional support, ensuring they feel heard, valued, and understood at all times.
  • Practice and apply active listening techniques to help users articulate their thoughts and feelings without offering unsolicited advice or personal opinions.
  • Maintain a calm, empathetic, and non-judgmental tone across all interactions, fostering a safe and trusting environment for open communication.
  • Identify and escalate conversations involving crisis situations, self-harm indicators, or urgent mental health concerns to qualified supervisors or clinical professionals promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to platform guidelines, ethical standards, and confidentiality protocols to protect user privacy and data security at all times.
  • Complete session notes and maintain accurate records of interactions in accordance with internal documentation requirements and quality standards.
  • Participate in regular training sessions, team check-ins, and feedback reviews to continuously improve listening skills and overall service quality.
  • Collaborate with team leads and mental health professionals to refine support strategies and ensure alignment with best practices in emotional wellness.

Requirements

  • A genuine passion for helping others and a strong sense of empathy, patience, and emotional intelligence in personal and professional interactions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or additional regional Indian languages is considered a strong advantage.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and emotional resilience when engaging with sensitive or distressing user conversations on a regular basis.
  • Reliable internet connection, a quiet workspace, and a personal computer or smartphone capable of supporting the platform's communication tools.
  • Prior experience in counselling, social work, customer support, community service, or any people-facing role is preferred but not strictly mandatory.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate users across different time zones and schedules.
  • Completion of the company's mandatory onboarding and certified listener training program prior to independently handling user sessions.

Benefits

  • Fully remote and flexible work arrangement, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance while contributing meaningfully to society.
  • Competitive per-session or hourly compensation with opportunities for performance-based incentives and incremental pay growth over time.
  • Access to free mental wellness resources, self-care tools, and internal support programs designed to protect listener well-being and prevent burnout.
  • Ongoing professional development through workshops, certifications, and mentorship opportunities in the mental health and wellness industry.
  • A supportive, inclusive, and purpose-driven team culture that values every contributor's role in making mental wellness accessible to all across India.
