The successful candidate will work closely with senior engineers and plant supervisors to ensure the reliable, safe, and efficient generation and distribution of electrical power in compliance with national regulatory standards and organizational protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation and monitoring of electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchgear, control panels, and protection relay systems to ensure uninterrupted power generation.

  • Participate in the inspection, testing, and commissioning of new electrical equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
  • Monitor and record plant operational parameters, log shift readings, and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly technical reports for management review.
  • Identify and escalate electrical faults, anomalies, and potential safety hazards to the concerned department, and assist in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety protocols, permit-to-work systems, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and all applicable CEA and IS standards during maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with the procurement and stores department for spare parts requisition and inventory management related to electrical components and consumables.
  • Support the preparation and updating of maintenance schedules, SOPs, and technical documentation including single-line diagrams, equipment manuals, and maintenance logs.

Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering, or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: 0–3 years of relevant experience in a power plant, substation, or heavy industrial electrical environment; freshers with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
  • Sound theoretical and practical knowledge of electrical machines, power systems, protection schemes, and switchgear operations.
  • Familiarity with Indian Electricity Rules, CEA regulations, and IS codes applicable to power plant operations and electrical safety.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals; basic knowledge of SCADA or DCS systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by plant operations.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with performance-based annual increments and bonuses.
