About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior / Assistant Engineer — Electrical Power Plant to join our growing operations team at a leading power generation facility in India. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career electrical engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, high-responsibility environment. The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineers and plant supervisors to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems across the power plant. You will be exposed to cutting-edge equipment, industry-standard safety protocols, and real-world engineering challenges that will accelerate your professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, and protection relay systems within the power plant.
  • Support senior engineers in conducting routine and preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure continuous power generation.
  • Monitor electrical parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, and power factor using SCADA systems and control panels, reporting anomalies to the shift supervisor promptly.
  • Participate in fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of electrical failures, breakdowns, and equipment malfunctions under the guidance of experienced engineers.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of technical documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, test records, and equipment history cards.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, electrical codes, and plant operating procedures, including the implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) practices during maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, instrumentation, and control departments to support planned outages, shutdowns, and plant upgrades.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in electrical engineering and power plant technologies, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and energy efficiency programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering from a recognized university; fresh graduates and candidates with up to 3 years of experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Foundational knowledge of power systems, electrical machines, protection systems, and high-voltage equipment as applicable to thermal, hydro, or renewable energy power plants.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems, DCS control panels, and PLCs is an added advantage for candidates with prior internship or project experience.
  • Valid Electrical Supervisor Certificate of Competency issued by a State Electrical Inspectorate is preferred; candidates willing to obtain certification will also be considered.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a shift-based work environment, including night shifts and weekends as required.
  • Good communication skills in English and the regional language, along with proficiency in MS Office and basic engineering software tools.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of workplace safety, environmental compliance, and professional integrity.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package in line with industry standards, along with performance-based incentives and annual increments.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for the employee and immediate family members, along with access to occupational health services at the plant.
  • Structured training and development programs, including technical certifications, safety training, and mentorship from experienced senior engineers.
  • Subsidized accommodation and transportation facilities for candidates posted at plant locations, along with canteen and recreational amenities.
  • Clear and transparent career progression pathways leading to roles such as Assistant Manager, Shift Engineer, and Senior Engineer within the organization.
