About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically sound Junior / Assistant Engineer — Electrical Power Plant to join our growing operations team at a leading power generation facility in India. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career electrical engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and high-stakes environment. The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineers and plant supervisors to ensure the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of electrical systems within the power plant. This role demands a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, a commitment to safety standards, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, bus bars, and protection relay systems.
  • Support daily shift operations by conducting routine inspections, recording operational parameters, and reporting anomalies to the shift-in-charge or senior engineer.
  • Participate in planned and preventive maintenance activities for generators, motors, UPS systems, battery banks, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Assist in troubleshooting electrical faults and breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt restoration of normal operations in compliance with safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, and equipment history using plant management systems and ensure timely documentation of all electrical activities.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, instrumentation, and control departments to support planned outages, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
  • Ensure strict adherence to electrical safety norms, permit-to-work systems, and statutory regulations as prescribed by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and other applicable bodies.
  • Support the implementation of energy efficiency initiatives and assist in identifying opportunities to reduce auxiliary power consumption across the plant.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university; candidates with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience may also be considered.
  • 0–3 years of experience in an electrical power plant, substation, or heavy industrial environment; freshers with strong academic credentials and internship exposure are encouraged to apply.
  • Sound knowledge of power plant electrical systems, including protection schemes, switchyard operations, DG sets, and LT/HT distribution panels.
  • Familiarity with Indian Electricity Rules, CEA regulations, and IS standards applicable to power plant operations and electrical safety.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure during plant emergencies and critical situations.
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by plant operational schedules.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package aligned with industry standards, along with performance-based increments and annual bonuses.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for the employee and immediate family members, including medical, dental, and accidental benefits.
  • Structured training and development programs, including technical certifications, on-the-job mentoring, and opportunities to attend industry seminars and workshops.
  • Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity, and other statutory benefits as per applicable Indian labour laws, ensuring long-term financial security.
  • Opportunity for career growth and promotion within a professionally managed organization, with a clear path to senior engineering and supervisory roles.
