About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior / Assistant Engineer — Electrical Power Plant to join our growing operations team at a leading power generation facility in India. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career electrical engineers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, high-performance environment. The selected candidate will work closely with senior engineers and plant supervisors to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical systems and equipment across the plant. This role demands a strong foundation in electrical engineering principles, a commitment to safety standards, and a proactive attitude toward continuous learning and improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of electrical systems including transformers, switchgear, generators, motors, and control panels within the power plant.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance activities on electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal plant performance.
  • Support senior engineers in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing equipment failures, and implementing corrective actions in a timely and safe manner.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, equipment history cards, and shift handover records.
  • Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and statutory requirements as prescribed by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) and other applicable Indian regulatory bodies.
  • Participate in shutdown and outage planning activities, coordinating with cross-functional teams to execute planned maintenance schedules efficiently.
  • Monitor electrical parameters and plant data through SCADA or DCS systems, reporting anomalies and taking prompt corrective measures under supervision.
  • Assist in the commissioning and testing of new electrical equipment, relays, and protection systems as per project and OEM specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.E. / B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university; candidates with a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and relevant experience may also be considered.
  • 0–3 years of experience in an electrical power plant, substation, or heavy industrial environment; fresh graduates with strong academic performance are encouraged to apply.
  • Solid understanding of power systems, protection schemes, switchgear operations, and electrical safety practices.
  • Familiarity with Indian Electricity Rules, CEA guidelines, and relevant IS/IEC standards applicable to power generation facilities.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical schematics, and equipment technical manuals.
  • Basic knowledge of SCADA, DCS, or PLC-based control systems is an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, team orientation, and the ability to work effectively in shift-based operations including nights and weekends.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package in line with industry standards, including performance-linked incentives and annual increments.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for employees and immediate family members, along with group personal accident insurance.
  • Structured training and development programs, including technical certifications, safety training, and mentorship from experienced engineering professionals.
  • Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity, and other statutory benefits as per the applicable Indian labour laws and company policy.
  • Opportunity for career advancement within a growing organization, with clear pathways to senior engineering and supervisory roles based on performance and experience.
