About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Housekeeper to join our household team based in Amta-I, Howrah District, West Bengal, India. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and comfortable living environment for the household members. This is a full-time position that requires a hardworking individual with a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the smooth day-to-day functioning of the household and will be treated with respect and dignity as a valued member of the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of all rooms including bedrooms, living areas, bathrooms, and kitchen on a daily and weekly basis to maintain a hygienic and tidy environment.
• Sweep, mop, and scrub floors, dust furniture, and clean windows, mirrors, and other surfaces as required throughout the household.
• Manage laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing, and neatly folding clothes and linens for all household members.
• Assist with basic cooking and meal preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing simple dishes, and maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen area before and after cooking.
• Monitor and maintain adequate stock of household cleaning supplies, toiletries, and kitchen essentials, and inform the employer when replenishment is needed.
• Ensure the safe handling, storage, and organization of household belongings, valuables, and perishable food items at all times.
• Assist with childcare or elderly care duties if required, including supervising children, running errands, and providing companionship to senior family members.
• Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety concerns promptly to the employer to ensure the household remains in good condition.

Requirements

• Prior experience of at least 1–2 years in a similar housekeeping or domestic helper role is preferred, though freshers with a willingness to learn will also be considered.
• Ability to read and communicate in Bengali is essential; basic understanding of Hindi will be an added advantage.
• Must be physically fit, energetic, and capable of performing household tasks that may involve standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Strong sense of integrity, trustworthiness, and confidentiality regarding household matters and personal information of family members.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or weekends, based on the needs of the household.
• Candidates residing in or near Amta-I block, Howrah, West Bengal will be given preference to ensure punctuality and commitment.
• Basic knowledge of hygiene standards, safe use of cleaning products, and general household management practices is desirable.
