About the role
This is a senior-level position responsible for leading railway operations at a large port and special economic zone facility in Gangavaram, Andhra Pradesh. The role requires an experienced professional capable of managing end-to-end rail logistics, coordination with railway authorities, and ensuring efficient movement of cargo by rail.
The incumbent will be expected to oversee planning, execution, and continuous improvement of railway operations, including track utilisation, wagon management, and compliance with statutory and safety norms. Strong stakeholder management skills are essential, as the role involves regular liaison with Indian Railways and internal operations teams.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Leading and managing the full scope of port railway operations
- Coordinating with Indian Railways for scheduling, rakes, and operational approvals
- Ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency across all rail movement activities
- Driving process improvements to optimise turnaround time and throughput
- Managing a team of railway operations personnel
