About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Deputy Manager – Claims (DM-Claims) to join our growing team based in Thane, Maharashtra. This role sits at the heart of our insurance operations and requires a professional who can manage end-to-end claims processing with accuracy, efficiency, and a strong customer-first mindset. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of claims management within the general or health insurance sector and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.

As a DM-Claims, you will be responsible for overseeing the complete claims lifecycle — from intimation and investigation through to settlement and closure. You will work closely with surveyors, TPAs, internal underwriting teams, and external stakeholders to ensure that all claims are handled in strict compliance with IRDAI guidelines and company policies. Your ability to assess risk, detect fraud, and deliver fair settlements will directly impact customer satisfaction and the company's financial integrity.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional who is looking to take on greater ownership, lead a small team, and contribute meaningfully to process improvements. The position is based at our Thane office and may require occasional field visits or coordination with pan-India branches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise end-to-end claims processing including registration, scrutiny, investigation, assessment, and final settlement within defined TATs.
  • Review and evaluate claim documents, survey reports, medical records, and loss assessments to determine admissibility and quantum of claims.
  • Coordinate with Third Party Administrators (TPAs), surveyors, legal teams, and workshops to ensure smooth and timely claim resolution.
  • Identify and investigate suspicious or potentially fraudulent claims, escalating cases as required to the fraud management team.
  • Ensure full compliance with IRDAI regulations, internal SOPs, and policy terms and conditions at every stage of the claims process.
  • Prepare and present MIS reports, claims dashboards, and trend analyses for senior management review on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Handle customer and agent escalations related to claim disputes, providing timely resolutions and maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
  • Mentor and guide junior claims executives, supporting their development and ensuring consistent quality standards across the team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, or a related field; ACII, AIII, or MBA (Insurance/Finance) preferred.
  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience in claims handling within general insurance, health insurance, or motor insurance sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of IRDAI guidelines, insurance policy wordings, and standard claims procedures in the Indian market.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and MS Office tools, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent analytical and investigative skills with a proven ability to identify discrepancies and manage complex claims.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English, Hindi, and preferably Marathi for effective stakeholder coordination.
  • Willingness to undertake field visits or travel as required for claim investigations or branch support.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary package with performance-linked incentives aligned to industry standards.
  • Comprehensive health insurance coverage for self and family, along with group term life insurance.
  • Structured learning and development programmes, including support for professional insurance certifications.
  • Opportunity to work with a reputed and growing organisation offering clear career progression into senior management roles.
  • Employee-friendly policies including flexible leave structure, provident fund, and gratuity as per statutory norms.
