About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deputy Manager – Claims (DM-Claims) to join our growing team based in Thane, India. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and manage the end-to-end claims processing lifecycle within our insurance or financial services operations. You will be responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and fair settlement of claims while maintaining strict compliance with regulatory guidelines and internal policies. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned claims professional to lead a dynamic team, drive process improvements, and contribute meaningfully to customer satisfaction and organizational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise the complete claims processing cycle, including registration, investigation, assessment, and final settlement, ensuring adherence to defined turnaround times and quality benchmarks.
  • Review and analyze complex or high-value claims, conducting thorough investigations to verify authenticity, assess liability, and determine appropriate settlement amounts in accordance with policy terms.
  • Coordinate with internal departments such as underwriting, legal, finance, and customer service, as well as external stakeholders including surveyors, third-party administrators, and legal counsel, to facilitate smooth claims resolution.
  • Monitor team performance metrics and KPIs, providing regular feedback, coaching, and training to claims executives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and professional development.
  • Identify and flag potentially fraudulent claims by implementing robust fraud detection mechanisms, escalating suspicious cases to the appropriate investigative teams in a timely manner.
  • Ensure full compliance with IRDAI regulations, company guidelines, and applicable legal frameworks, maintaining meticulous documentation and audit-ready records for all processed claims.
  • Prepare and present detailed MIS reports, claims data analytics, and performance dashboards to senior management, offering actionable insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives by identifying operational bottlenecks, recommending automation solutions, and implementing best practices to enhance overall claims department efficiency.

Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a postgraduate degree or professional certification in insurance (such as FIII or AIII from the Insurance Institute of India) will be an added advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in claims management within the insurance, banking, or financial services sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong working knowledge of insurance products, policy terms, claims procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements as prescribed by IRDAI.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess complex claims scenarios, interpret policy language, and make sound, well-reasoned decisions under pressure.
  • Proficiency in claims management software, MS Office Suite, and data reporting tools; familiarity with digital claims platforms and automation technologies is highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in English and Hindi, with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, vendors, legal teams, and senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, integrity, and customer-centricity.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: An attractive salary package aligned with industry standards, including performance-linked incentives and annual merit-based increments.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and their immediate family members, along with access to employee wellness programs.
  • Career Development: Structured learning and development programs, sponsorship for professional certifications, and clear internal career progression pathways within the organization.
  • Work-Life Balance: Generous leave policy including earned leave, casual leave, and paid public holidays, with a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Retirement Benefits: Provident Fund, Gratuity, and other statutory retirement benefits as per applicable Indian labor laws, ensuring long-term financial security for our employees.
