About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Deputy Manager – Claims (DM-Claims) to join our growing team based in Thane, India. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the end-to-end claims process within our insurance or financial services operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and customers to ensure that all claims are processed accurately, efficiently, and in strict compliance with regulatory guidelines. Key Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the complete claims lifecycle, including registration, investigation, assessment, settlement, and closure, ensuring adherence to defined turnaround times and quality benchmarks.
• Review complex and high-value claims independently, applying sound judgment and technical expertise to arrive at fair and accurate settlement decisions.
• Coordinate with surveyors, third-party administrators, legal teams, and other external agencies to facilitate prompt and accurate claims resolution.
• Monitor claims data and generate periodic MIS reports to track performance metrics, identify trends, and recommend process improvements to senior management.
• Ensure full compliance with IRDAI regulations, company policies, and internal audit requirements throughout the claims handling process.
• Handle customer escalations and grievances related to claims in a professional and empathetic manner, striving to deliver a superior customer experience at every touchpoint.
• Train, mentor, and guide junior claims executives to build team capability and maintain consistent service quality across the department.
• Collaborate with the underwriting and risk management teams to provide insights from claims data that support better risk assessment and product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in insurance (such as Licentiate or Associate from III) is strongly preferred.
• Minimum 4–7 years of experience in claims management within the insurance or financial services industry, with demonstrated expertise in handling motor, health, property, or liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of IRDAI guidelines, claims regulations, and industry best practices applicable to the Indian insurance market.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to manage high-volume workloads while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in claims management systems, MS Office applications, and MIS reporting tools.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with customers, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership qualities with prior experience in team management or mentoring within a claims or operations environment.
