This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional to take on a leadership role within a dynamic insurance or financial services environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing end-to-end claims processing, ensuring timely and accurate settlement of claims, and maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including underwriting, legal, and customer service to drive operational excellence and process improvements across the claims function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the complete claims lifecycle, from registration and investigation through to final settlement and closure, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Review, evaluate, and authorize claims within the defined authority limits, conducting thorough assessments to determine validity and appropriate settlement amounts.
  • Lead and mentor a team of claims executives and analysts, providing day-to-day guidance, performance feedback, and training to build a high-performing claims unit.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, investigators, and third-party service providers to gather necessary documentation and ensure accurate and fair claims adjudication.
  • Identify and flag potentially fraudulent claims, initiating appropriate investigation procedures and working with the legal team to mitigate financial risk to the organization.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as turnaround time, claims ratio, and customer satisfaction scores, preparing regular reports for senior management review.
  • Ensure strict adherence to IRDAI regulations and internal compliance standards, keeping up to date with changes in insurance laws and industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce claims leakage, and improve the overall customer claims experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in insurance (such as Licentiate or Fellow from III) will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–8 years of experience in claims management within the insurance, banking, or financial services sector, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of general or life insurance products, claims procedures, and relevant regulatory frameworks including IRDAI guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and within defined timelines.
  • Proficiency in claims management software and MS Office Suite, with the ability to generate and interpret data-driven reports.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and a strong focus on customer-centric service delivery.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package including performance-linked incentives and annual bonuses aligned with industry standards.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical insurance coverage for the employee and immediate family members.
  • Structured learning and development programs, including sponsorship for professional certifications and leadership development training.
  • A supportive and inclusive work culture with clear career progression pathways and opportunities for advancement within the organization.
  • Convenient Thane-based office location with flexible working arrangements and employee-friendly HR policies designed to promote work-life balance.
