About the role
The employer is seeking a Director of Machine Learning Engineering to lead its AI and machine learning initiatives. This is a senior individual-contributor and people-leadership role that sits at the intersection of applied research, product development, and engineering excellence.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the technical direction for machine learning systems, overseeing the end-to-end development of models and pipelines, and ensuring that ML-driven features meet production quality standards. Close collaboration with cross-functional teams — including product management, data engineering, and software development — will be central to the role.
- Define and execute the organisation's machine learning roadmap and strategy
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of machine learning engineers and data scientists
- Own the design, development, deployment, and monitoring of ML models in production
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable AI solutions
- Establish best practices around model governance, experimentation, and MLOps
