Director – Machine Learning Engineering

About the role
The employer is seeking an experienced Director of Machine Learning Engineering to lead and scale its ML engineering function. This is a senior individual-contributor and people-leadership position responsible for shaping the technical direction of machine learning initiatives across the organisation.
The successful candidate will oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of ML systems — from research and experimentation through to production deployment — while collaborating closely with product, data science, and engineering teams to deliver measurable business impact.
- Define and execute the machine learning engineering roadmap in alignment with broader product and technology strategy
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of machine learning engineers
- Establish best practices for model development, MLOps, and scalable infrastructure
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust ML solutions
- Drive quality, reliability, and performance standards across all ML systems
