A Diploma Engineer Trainee (DET) is an entry-level engineering position designed for candidates who have recently completed their Diploma in Engineering from a recognized polytechnic institute. The training period typically spans 12 to 24 months, during which trainees are evaluated on performance, adaptability, and technical competence before being considered for a full-time confirmed position.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers in day-to-day operations of production, maintenance, or quality control departments as per the assigned functional area.
• Monitor machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure smooth and uninterrupted plant operations, reporting any abnormalities promptly.
• Support preventive and breakdown maintenance activities, including documentation of maintenance logs, service records, and equipment history cards.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives and assist in identifying root causes of recurring technical issues using basic problem-solving tools.
• Prepare and maintain technical reports, daily production sheets, inspection records, and other relevant documentation as required by the department.
• Adhere strictly to all safety, health, and environmental (SHE) guidelines, ensuring compliance with factory norms and ISO standards at all times.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including procurement, stores, and quality assurance to support smooth workflow and timely project completion.
• Undergo structured training modules, attend technical workshops, and complete assessments as part of the formal trainee development program.

Requirements

• Educational Qualification: Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Civil / Instrumentation or related branch) from a government-recognized polytechnic institute.
• Minimum aggregate score of 55% or above in the final diploma examination (relaxation applicable for reserved category candidates as per company policy).
• Freshers are welcome to apply; however, candidates with up to 1 year of internship or apprenticeship experience will be given preference.
• Basic proficiency in computer applications including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with AutoCAD or relevant technical software is desirable.
• Strong understanding of fundamental engineering concepts, safety protocols, and workshop practices relevant to the applied discipline.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Hindi; knowledge of the regional language is an added advantage for plant-based roles.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, relocate to plant or project sites across India, and adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
