Detail Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Detail Engineering Specialist to join our growing team in India. This role is central to the successful execution of engineering projects across industries including oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, and infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating conceptual and front-end engineering designs into comprehensive, construction-ready documentation and drawings. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and contractors to ensure that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment layouts, and civil or structural designs.
• Coordinate with process, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of all design elements across project phases.
• Perform and validate engineering calculations to confirm that designs comply with applicable national and international codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage and track engineering deliverables against project schedules, ensuring timely submission of drawings and documents for client review and approval.
• Conduct design reviews, inter-discipline checks (IDCs), and constructability reviews to identify and resolve potential conflicts or technical issues before construction commences.
• Liaise with procurement and construction teams to provide technical clarifications, review vendor documents, and support the resolution of field engineering queries.
• Ensure all detail engineering activities are executed in accordance with the project quality plan, health and safety guidelines, and company engineering standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and drafting personnel, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous professional development within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical, or a related discipline) from a recognized and accredited institution in India or abroad.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in detail engineering roles within EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) or consultancy environments.
• Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, CAESAR II, or equivalent design and analysis tools relevant to your discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian and international engineering codes and standards including IS, ASME, API, IEC, and relevant statutory regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight project deadlines without compromising quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural, multidisciplinary team environment.
• Experience working on projects in the oil and gas, refinery, power, or chemical processing sectors will be considered a significant advantage.
