About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Detail Engineering Specialist to join our growing engineering team based in India. This role is integral to the successful execution of large-scale industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating conceptual and basic engineering designs into comprehensive, construction-ready documentation. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, structural, electrical, and instrumentation engineers to ensure that all technical deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and equipment layouts for oil and gas, power, or infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with process and basic engineering teams to ensure accurate translation of design intent into detailed construction packages ready for execution on site.
• Perform engineering calculations and analysis to validate design parameters, material selections, and compliance with applicable Indian and international standards such as IS, ASME, IBR, and IEC codes.
• Manage and review vendor documents, technical submittals, and material requisitions to ensure alignment with project specifications and procurement schedules.
• Liaise with project managers, client representatives, and third-party inspection agencies to address technical queries, resolve design conflicts, and support seamless project delivery.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables comply with statutory regulations, environmental guidelines, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards applicable in India.
• Participate in design review meetings, HAZOP studies, and model reviews, providing technical expertise and actionable recommendations to optimize engineering solutions.
• Maintain accurate documentation control practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering from a recognized Indian university or equivalent institution; a postgraduate qualification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in detail engineering roles within EPC, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, or heavy industrial sectors in India.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, STAAD.Pro, or Caesar II, depending on the discipline of specialization.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian standards and international codes including IS, ASME, API, IBR, IEC, and ISO relevant to the engineering discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and meeting project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, clients, and vendors.
• Valid membership or certification from a recognized professional engineering body such as The Institution of Engineers (India) is preferred.
