About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Detail Engineering Specialist to join our growing engineering team based in India. This role is central to the successful execution of large-scale industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for translating conceptual and basic engineering designs into comprehensive, construction-ready technical documentation. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams including process, civil, structural, instrumentation, and procurement professionals to ensure that all engineering deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents including piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), general arrangement drawings, isometrics, and equipment layouts in accordance with project requirements and international standards.
• Coordinate with process and basic engineering teams to ensure seamless transition from front-end engineering design (FEED) to detailed engineering phases, resolving technical queries and design conflicts in a timely manner.
• Perform engineering calculations, material take-offs (MTOs), and bill of quantities to support procurement and construction activities across all project disciplines.
• Ensure all detailed engineering outputs comply with applicable Indian and international codes, standards, and statutory regulations including IS, ASME, API, and IBR requirements.
• Liaise with vendors, contractors, and third-party inspection agencies to review and approve vendor drawings, technical submittals, and shop fabrication documents.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOP studies, and constructability reviews to identify and mitigate potential engineering risks at early project stages.
• Manage and track engineering deliverable schedules, ensuring timely submission of documents to meet project milestones and client expectations.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and draftsmen, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or related Engineering discipline from a recognized university; membership in a professional engineering body is an advantage.
• Minimum 5 to 10 years of experience in detail engineering for oil and gas, petrochemical, power, or infrastructure projects, with demonstrated expertise in at least one core discipline.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, PDMS, E3D, CAESAR II, or equivalent tools relevant to the specific engineering discipline.
• Strong working knowledge of Indian and international engineering codes and standards, including IS, ASME, API, IEC, and relevant statutory regulations applicable to industrial projects in India.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple deliverables simultaneously under tight project deadlines.
• Prior experience working on EPC or EPCM projects in India with exposure to client interfacing, multidisciplinary coordination, and document management systems is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with quality management systems, engineering change management processes, and HSE requirements applicable to detailed engineering environments.
