Delivery Driver

Key Responsibilities

• Pick up and deliver packages, parcels, or products to residential and commercial locations within the designated delivery zone in a safe and timely manner.
• Verify delivery details, including recipient names, addresses, and package contents, to ensure accuracy before and during each delivery.
• Obtain proof of delivery through customer signatures, digital confirmations, or photographic evidence as required by company policy.
• Maintain the assigned delivery vehicle in clean, roadworthy condition by performing basic daily checks including fuel levels, tyre pressure, and overall vehicle cleanliness.
• Follow all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving guidelines at all times to ensure personal safety and the safety of others on the road.
• Communicate proactively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or any issues encountered during the route.
• Handle packages with care to prevent damage during loading, transit, and unloading, adhering to proper handling procedures at all times.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, logs, and reports using company-provided tools, mobile applications, or manual documentation as required.

Requirements

• A valid Indian driving licence (LMV or relevant category) with a clean driving record and a minimum of one to two years of professional driving experience.
• Familiarity with local roads, landmarks, and navigation tools such as Google Maps or similar applications to plan and execute efficient delivery routes.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deliveries within tight schedules, especially during peak periods.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills to read delivery instructions, verify addresses, and maintain simple delivery logs or digital records.
• Good physical fitness and the ability to lift, carry, and manoeuvre packages of varying sizes and weights throughout the workday.
• A professional and courteous attitude towards customers, colleagues, and supervisors with strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays, based on operational requirements.
