About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our legal and commercial team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle — from initial drafting and negotiation through to execution, compliance monitoring, and renewal or closure. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all contractual matters, working closely with internal stakeholders across procurement, finance, legal, and business development teams.
The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of Indian contract law, including the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and is comfortable navigating complex commercial agreements across vendor, client, and partnership arrangements. You will play a strategic role in mitigating organisational risk, ensuring that all agreements align with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards across domestic and cross-border transactions.
This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional looking to make a measurable impact within a fast-growing organisation. You will bring analytical rigour, sharp negotiation skills, and the confidence to advise senior leadership on contractual risks and obligations in a dynamic business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, NDAs, MSAs, SLAs, and client service contracts in alignment with company policies and applicable Indian laws.
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, including tracking key milestones, renewal dates, obligations, and expiry timelines using contract management systems.
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, and legal teams to ensure contractual terms reflect business requirements and adequately protect organisational interests.
- Identify, assess, and escalate contractual risks, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies to senior management and legal counsel.
- Ensure all contracts comply with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements, including GST provisions, labour laws, and FEMA regulations where applicable.
- Maintain a centralised, well-organised contract repository and generate periodic reports on contract status, performance, and compliance for leadership review.
- Lead or support dispute resolution processes, including coordinating with external legal counsel during arbitration or litigation proceedings.
- Develop and implement standardised contract templates, playbooks, and internal policies to improve efficiency and consistency across the contracting process.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised Indian university; LLM or additional qualifications in contract or commercial law are preferred.
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in contracts management within a corporate legal, procurement, or commercial function in India.
- Strong working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, Sale of Goods Act, and other relevant commercial legislation.
- Proven experience negotiating high-value contracts with domestic and international counterparts across multiple industries.
- Proficiency in contract management software such as Icertis, Agiloft, or SAP Ariba is a distinct advantage.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or a regional language is an added benefit.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously under tight deadlines.
Benefits
- Competitive CTC package with performance-linked annual bonus and structured salary reviews.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage for employee and immediate family members, including group medical and term life insurance.
- Flexible hybrid working model with a supportive and inclusive workplace culture.
- Structured learning and development programmes, including sponsored certifications and legal training opportunities.
- Generous paid leave entitlements including earned leave, casual leave, and maternity/paternity benefits as per applicable Indian labour law.
