About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our growing team in India. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts across the organization, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating risk, and supporting business objectives through sound contract governance. You will work closely with legal, procurement, finance, and senior leadership teams to draft, negotiate, and manage a diverse portfolio of commercial agreements. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of Indian contract law, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, client service agreements, NDAs, procurement contracts, and partnership agreements in accordance with Indian and international legal standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle from initiation and drafting through execution, renewal, and termination, maintaining an accurate and up-to-date contract repository.
  • Identify and assess contractual risks, propose mitigation strategies, and escalate high-risk clauses to senior legal or management stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal departments including procurement, finance, sales, and operations to ensure contract terms align with business requirements and organizational policies.
  • Monitor contract performance, track key milestones, obligations, and renewal deadlines, and proactively communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations, including the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and other relevant statutory requirements.
  • Lead contract dispute resolution efforts by coordinating with legal counsel and facilitating negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain standardized contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidelines to improve efficiency and consistency across the contracting process.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB), Business Administration, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or LLM is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of proven experience in contracts management, preferably within a corporate, legal, or procurement environment in India.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, commercial law, and regulatory compliance frameworks applicable to business contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex agreements with vendors, clients, and third-party service providers at a senior level.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools, along with strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple contracts and competing priorities simultaneously.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package benchmarked against industry standards, with performance-based annual increments and bonuses.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and immediate family members, including hospitalization and preventive care benefits.
  • Professional Development: Access to sponsored certifications, legal training programs, and continuous learning opportunities to support career advancement.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements including hybrid work options, generous paid leave, and observance of all national public holidays.
  • Retirement Benefits: Provident Fund contributions and Gratuity as per statutory requirements, along with additional long-term savings support programs.
