About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our dynamic legal and operations team in India. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of contracts across the organization, ensuring all agreements are legally sound, commercially viable, and aligned with company objectives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders including procurement, finance, legal, and senior leadership to draft, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, clients, and partners. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of Indian contract law, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-value agreements simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including vendor agreements, service contracts, non-disclosure agreements, master service agreements, and client contracts in compliance with Indian laws and regulations.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle from initiation and drafting through execution, renewal, and termination, maintaining accurate records in the contract management system.
  • Identify and assess contractual risks, propose appropriate mitigation strategies, and escalate critical issues to senior management and the legal team as required.
  • Collaborate with procurement, finance, and business development teams to ensure contractual terms align with organizational goals, budgets, and operational requirements.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, tracking key milestones, deliverables, and obligations to ensure all parties fulfill their contractual commitments.
  • Develop and maintain standardized contract templates, playbooks, and internal guidelines to streamline contracting processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support dispute resolution processes by providing relevant contractual documentation, analysis, and recommendations in coordination with the legal team.
  • Stay current with changes in Indian contract law, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices, ensuring the organization remains fully compliant at all times.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university; a Master's degree (LLM) or MBA with a legal specialization is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in contracts management, preferably within a corporate, IT, infrastructure, or professional services environment in India.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and other relevant legislation including the Companies Act, GST regulations, and sector-specific compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of independently negotiating and closing complex, high-value commercial agreements with domestic and international counterparties.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with tools such as Icertis, SAP Ariba, or similar platforms is an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines and manage multiple contracts simultaneously without compromising quality.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package benchmarked against industry standards, with performance-linked incentives and annual appraisals.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and their immediate family members, including hospitalization and preventive care benefits.
  • Professional Development: Access to continuous learning programs, legal certifications, industry conferences, and sponsored training to support your career growth.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements including hybrid work options, generous paid leave, and a supportive, inclusive workplace culture.
  • Retirement Benefits: Provident Fund, Gratuity, and other statutory benefits as per Indian labor laws, along with additional long-term financial planning support.
