The ideal candidate will bring strong legal acumen, exceptional negotiation skills, and a thorough understanding of Indian contract law and commercial practices. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including legal, finance, procurement, and senior leadership to safeguard the company's interests across all contractual engagements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and partnership agreements in compliance with Indian and international legal standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, from initial request and drafting through execution, performance monitoring, renewal, and termination.

  • Maintain a centralized and up-to-date contract repository, ensuring all documents are accurately stored, tracked, and accessible to relevant departments.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel, clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies to resolve contractual disputes and ensure timely resolution of any legal issues.
  • Collaborate with the procurement and finance teams to ensure contractual terms reflect agreed commercial conditions, pricing structures, and payment milestones.
  • Develop and implement standardized contract templates, processes, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management procedures, compliance requirements, and key contractual obligations.

Requirements

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Indian university; a Master's degree in Law or Business Administration is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of proven experience in contracts management, commercial law, or a related legal role within a corporate environment in India.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, along with familiarity with relevant commercial, procurement, and corporate legislation.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships at all levels, including senior stakeholders and external parties.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools, along with strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
  • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of interpreting complex legal language and translating it into actionable business guidance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts and competing priorities simultaneously within a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package benchmarked against industry standards, with performance-based annual increments and bonuses.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and immediate family members, including hospitalization and preventive care benefits.
  • Professional Development: Access to continuous learning programs, sponsored certifications, legal seminars, and leadership development initiatives to support long-term career growth.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements including hybrid work options, generous paid leave policies, and a supportive organizational culture that values employee well-being.
  • Retirement Benefits: Provident Fund contributions, gratuity benefits, and additional financial planning support in accordance with Indian statutory requirements.
