About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our dynamic legal and operations team. Based in India, this role is critical to ensuring that all contractual agreements are effectively drafted, reviewed, negotiated, and managed in alignment with our organizational objectives and applicable legal frameworks. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of Indian contract law, commercial acumen, and the ability to collaborate across multiple business functions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related matters, mitigating risk while enabling smooth business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, service contracts, NDAs, procurement agreements, and partnership contracts in compliance with Indian and international legal standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle from initiation and drafting through execution, renewal, and termination, ensuring timely processing and minimal business disruption.
  • Identify and assess contractual risks, recommending appropriate mitigation strategies and escalating critical issues to senior legal counsel or leadership as required.
  • Maintain a centralized and up-to-date contract repository, ensuring all agreements are accurately stored, tracked, and accessible for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including finance, procurement, sales, and operations teams to align contract terms with business requirements and company policies.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, proactively managing renewals, obligations, and milestones to ensure all parties adhere to agreed terms and conditions.
  • Liaise with external legal counsel, vendors, and clients during complex negotiations, representing the organization's interests with professionalism and strategic clarity.
  • Develop and implement contract management policies, templates, and standard operating procedures to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution; LLM or MBA in a related discipline is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5–8 years of proven experience in contracts management, commercial law, or a related legal role within a corporate or consulting environment in India.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Indian Contract Act, 1872, and other relevant legislation including the Companies Act, GST regulations, and sector-specific compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to interpret complex legal language and translate it into clear, actionable business guidance.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools such as Ironclad, Agiloft, or SAP Ariba, along with advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously within tight deadlines.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package benchmarked against industry standards, along with performance-linked bonuses and annual increments.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and their immediate family members, including access to wellness programs and mental health support.
  • Professional Development: Sponsored certifications, legal training programs, and opportunities to attend industry conferences to support continuous career growth.
  • Flexible Work Arrangements: Hybrid work model offering a healthy balance between in-office collaboration and remote working flexibility.
  • Leave Benefits: Generous paid leave policy including annual leave, casual leave, and maternity or paternity leave in accordance with applicable Indian labor laws.
