About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Contracts Manager to join our dynamic legal and operations team. Based in India, this role is central to managing the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, ensuring legal compliance, mitigating organizational risk, and supporting business growth through effective contract governance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in contract law, exceptional negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments including procurement, finance, sales, and senior leadership. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven professional looking to make a significant impact within a fast-growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts including vendor agreements, client service agreements, NDAs, procurement contracts, and partnership agreements in accordance with Indian and international legal standards.
  • Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle from initiation and drafting through execution, renewal, and termination, ensuring all milestones and obligations are tracked and met on time.
  • Identify and assess contractual risks, propose appropriate mitigation strategies, and escalate high-risk clauses to senior legal counsel or management for timely resolution.
  • Maintain and continuously update a centralized contract repository, ensuring all executed agreements are properly archived, accessible, and monitored for critical deadlines and renewal dates.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including the finance, procurement, sales, and operations teams to align contract terms with business objectives and organizational policies.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with applicable Indian laws and regulations, including the Indian Contract Act, 1872, GST provisions, labor laws, and any relevant industry-specific regulatory requirements.
  • Lead contract dispute resolution efforts, working alongside legal counsel and senior management to negotiate favorable outcomes and minimize business disruption.
  • Develop and implement standardized contract templates, playbooks, and best practice guidelines to improve efficiency and consistency across the contracting process.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized Indian university; a Master's degree (LLM) or MBA with a legal specialization is strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of proven experience in contracts management, preferably within a corporate legal department, law firm, or large enterprise environment in India.
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian contract law, commercial regulations, and compliance frameworks, with exposure to international contracting standards being a distinct advantage.
  • Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools, along with strong command of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex legal terms to non-legal stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity, professional discretion, and attention to detail, with a proactive and solution-focused approach to problem-solving.

Benefits

  • Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary package benchmarked to industry standards, along with performance-based annual bonuses and incentives.
  • Health and Wellness: Comprehensive medical insurance coverage for employees and their immediate family members, including hospitalization and preventive care benefits.
  • Professional Development: Access to sponsored certifications, legal training programs, and continuous learning opportunities to support your career advancement.
  • Work-Life Balance: Flexible working arrangements including hybrid work options, generous paid leave, and observance of all national and regional public holidays.
  • Inclusive Culture: A collaborative, diverse, and inclusive workplace that values every team member's contribution and fosters long-term professional growth and recognition.
