CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on engineering specifications and project requirements.
• Assist senior designers and engineers in developing detailed design documentation, including assembly drawings, part drawings, bills of materials, and technical schematics.
• Revise and update existing drawings to incorporate design changes and ensure all documentation reflects the latest approved specifications.
• Perform basic design calculations and dimensional checks to verify drawing accuracy, tolerances, and compliance with applicable standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing departments to ensure design feasibility and consistency across projects.
• Maintain organized digital drawing libraries and version control records in accordance with company document management procedures.
• Participate in design review meetings, incorporating feedback from engineers and stakeholders to refine and improve design outputs.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and quality guidelines as specified by the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in at least one CAD software platform such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools, with a willingness to learn additional platforms as required.
• 0–2 years of professional experience in a CAD design or drafting role; internship experience and academic project work will be considered.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical documentation practices.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet project deadlines in a structured team environment.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly interpret and convey technical information.
