We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior designers and engineers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities
- Create accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on engineering specifications and design briefs.
- Assist senior designers and engineers in developing detailed technical drawings, assembly layouts, and part models for manufacturing and production teams.
- Revise and update existing CAD files to reflect design changes, engineering modifications, or client feedback in a timely and organized manner.
- Maintain a well-structured digital filing system for all drawings, models, and design documents to ensure easy retrieval and version control.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, project managers, and quality assurance personnel to ensure design accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Perform basic design checks and quality reviews on completed drawings to identify errors, inconsistencies, or areas requiring improvement before final submission.
- Support the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs), technical documentation, and design reports as required by project stakeholders.
- Stay updated on the latest CAD tools, design standards, and industry best practices to continuously improve personal performance and contribute to team efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a closely related technical field.
- Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools is required.
- 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD design or drafting role; fresh graduates with strong academic project portfolios are encouraged to apply.
- Solid understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical documentation practices.
- Strong attention to detail, good spatial visualization skills, and the ability to interpret complex technical specifications and schematics accurately.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting purposes.
