We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team based in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior designers and engineers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate design professional to build a strong foundation in computer-aided design while contributing to meaningful projects across diverse industries. Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on project specifications and engineering requirements.
- Interpret and convert rough sketches, concepts, and verbal instructions into accurate and professional technical drawings ready for review and production.
- Assist senior engineers and designers in developing design documentation, including assembly drawings, part drawings, and bill of materials (BOM).
- Perform routine revisions and updates to existing drawings in accordance with engineering change orders (ECOs) and design modification requests.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company drafting guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to validate design feasibility and resolve technical discrepancies.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date digital library of design files, drawings, and related documentation using the company's Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) or document management system.
- Participate in design review meetings, incorporate feedback from stakeholders, and contribute ideas to improve overall design quality and efficiency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
- Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools is required.
- 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD design or drafting role; fresh graduates with strong academic project portfolios are encouraged to apply.
- Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawing standards, and design principles.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload effectively, and meet project deadlines consistently.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
- Familiarity with PLM or document management systems is considered an added advantage.
