CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team based in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support the full product development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on engineering specifications and project requirements.
• Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to interpret design briefs, technical sketches, and verbal instructions into accurate technical documentation.
• Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company drafting guidelines, and applicable regulatory requirements such as ISO or BIS standards.
• Maintain and organize CAD files, revision histories, and drawing libraries in a systematic and accessible manner within the company's document management system.
• Perform routine design checks and revisions to incorporate engineering change orders and feedback received during design review meetings.
• Assist in the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and exploded view diagrams to support manufacturing and procurement teams.
• Participate actively in project meetings, providing design updates, flagging potential conflicts, and suggesting improvements to enhance product functionality or manufacturability.
• Support quality assurance processes by cross-checking completed drawings against original specifications and ensuring dimensional accuracy throughout all design stages.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized Indian institution.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Revit, with hands-on experience gained through academic projects or internships.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and basic drafting principles.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams across different departments.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, for documentation and reporting purposes.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience in a CAD design or drafting role; fresh graduates with strong academic project portfolios are encouraged to apply.
