CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering team in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on engineering specifications and verbal instructions.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure drawings accurately reflect design intent, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.
• Maintain and organize drawing files, revision histories, and documentation in accordance with company standards and version control procedures.
• Perform basic design calculations and checks to verify dimensional accuracy and compliance with applicable industry standards and project specifications.
• Assist in the preparation of bills of materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and detailed part drawings for prototype and production releases.
• Identify and communicate design discrepancies or potential issues to the engineering team and participate in design review meetings.
• Support the development and updating of standard drawing templates, symbols, and libraries to improve team efficiency and consistency.
• Incorporate feedback from manufacturing and quality teams to refine designs and ensure drawings meet production and compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in at least one industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Creo; certification in any of these tools is an added advantage.
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in CAD drafting, product design, or a related engineering field.
• Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawing standards, and drafting conventions.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet project deadlines consistently.
• Good communication skills in English with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and fabrication techniques is preferred but not mandatory.
