CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on engineering specifications and design briefs.
• Assist senior designers and engineers in developing technical documentation, including assembly drawings, bill of materials (BOM), and parts lists.
• Interpret engineering sketches, blueprints, and verbal instructions to produce accurate and production-ready design outputs.
• Ensure all drawings and designs comply with company standards, industry codes, and quality guidelines before submission for review.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing staff to refine designs and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain an organized digital file management system, ensuring all design revisions are properly tracked, archived, and version-controlled.
• Participate in design review meetings, incorporate feedback, and implement revisions in a timely and efficient manner.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance design workflows and drafting processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized Indian institution.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools.
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD drafting or design role; fresh graduates with strong academic projects are encouraged to apply.
• Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), engineering drawing standards, and design principles.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within defined project timelines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Familiarity with PDM or PLM systems for document control and design data management is an added advantage.
