CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team based in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project leads to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Create accurate and detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on project specifications and engineering requirements.
• Assist senior designers and engineers in developing conceptual designs, technical layouts, and assembly drawings for products and components across various project phases.
• Review and interpret engineering sketches, blueprints, and specifications to translate them into precise digital models and technical documentation.
• Perform design revisions and modifications as directed by project managers or clients, ensuring all changes are accurately documented and version-controlled.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date design files, drawing libraries, and project records in accordance with company standards and quality procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, production staff, and quality assurance personnel to ensure designs meet functional and manufacturing requirements.
• Conduct basic design checks and validations to identify potential errors, interferences, or inconsistencies before designs are submitted for review or production.
• Stay updated on the latest CAD tools, design standards, and industry best practices to continuously improve personal performance and contribute to team efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools is required.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical documentation practices.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical deliverables.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize workload, and meet project deadlines in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD design role is preferred; fresh graduates with strong academic projects are encouraged to apply.
