CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop accurate technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on project specifications and engineering inputs.
• Assist senior designers and engineers in developing design concepts, technical schematics, and assembly drawings for mechanical components and systems.
• Ensure all drawings and models comply with company standards, industry norms, and applicable regulatory requirements, including GD&T principles.
• Maintain and organize drawing files, revision histories, and project documentation within the company's document management system.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance to incorporate design feedback and ensure design feasibility.
• Perform basic design calculations and conduct preliminary checks to verify dimensional accuracy and consistency across drawing sets.
• Participate in design review meetings, presenting work-in-progress drawings and incorporating feedback from stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline drafting processes and enhance overall drawing quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution in India.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent software, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings independently.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and manufacturing processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and consistency.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD design or drafting role; fresh graduates with strong academic project portfolios are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with PLM or PDM systems and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is considered an advantage.
