CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team based in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop accurate technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on project requirements and engineering specifications.
• Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to translate conceptual ideas and technical briefs into detailed, production-ready design documentation.
• Revise and update existing drawings to reflect design changes, client feedback, or updated engineering standards, ensuring all revisions are properly documented and version-controlled.
• Perform basic design calculations and dimensional checks to verify that drawings meet functional, safety, and regulatory requirements before submission.
• Organize and maintain a structured digital library of CAD files, templates, and project documentation in accordance with company file management protocols.
• Participate in design review meetings, presenting drawings and incorporating feedback from cross-functional teams including procurement, manufacturing, and quality assurance departments.
• Support the preparation of bill of materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and technical reports required for project deliverables and client submissions.
• Stay updated with the latest CAD tools, design standards, and industry best practices to continuously improve personal skill sets and contribute to team efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD software platforms such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools, with demonstrated ability to produce clean and accurate technical drawings.
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD design or drafting role; fresh graduates with strong academic project portfolios are encouraged to apply.
• Solid understanding of engineering drawing standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and drafting conventions applicable to the relevant industry domain.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting project deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate design decisions and collaborate effectively within a team environment.
• Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and assembly methods is considered an advantage.
