CAD Designer I

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented CAD Designer I to join our growing engineering and design team in India. In this entry-level position, you will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop precise technical drawings, 2D layouts, and 3D models that support product development and manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA based on project specifications and engineering requirements.
• Collaborate with senior designers and engineers to translate conceptual designs and rough sketches into accurate, production-ready technical drawings and models.
• Ensure all drawings and designs comply with company standards, industry codes, and quality guidelines, including GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles where applicable.
• Maintain and organize CAD file libraries and documentation, ensuring version control and proper archiving of all design assets and project files.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams, making necessary revisions to drawings in a timely and accurate manner.
• Assist in the preparation of Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, and fabrication documentation required for manufacturing and procurement teams.
• Identify and report potential design conflicts or technical issues to senior team members, supporting continuous improvement in design accuracy and efficiency.
• Stay current with emerging CAD tools, software updates, and best practices to enhance personal skill development and contribute to team productivity.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD software applications such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, Revit, or equivalent tools, with demonstrated ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawing standards, tolerances, material properties, and manufacturing processes relevant to the industry.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and quality in all deliverables.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a diverse and multidisciplinary team environment.
• 0–2 years of professional or internship experience in a CAD design role; fresh graduates with strong academic portfolios are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with project management tools and Microsoft Office Suite is considered an added advantage.
