About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Manager – Sales & Operations to join our growing team in India. This role sits at the intersection of revenue generation and operational excellence, requiring a professional who can seamlessly bridge the gap between frontline sales execution and back-end process management. You will work closely with the Sales Manager and Operations Head to ensure targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of sales executives, coordinating daily operational workflows, and driving consistent business growth across your assigned territory or vertical. You will play a pivotal role in identifying market opportunities, resolving escalations, and ensuring that sales pipelines are healthy, accurate, and progressing efficiently. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
This position offers significant growth potential within the organisation, with a clear pathway to a Senior Manager role. If you are someone who combines strong analytical ability with people management skills and a passion for achieving measurable outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive monthly and quarterly sales targets by leading, coaching, and motivating a team of 8–12 sales executives across assigned regions or product lines.
- Oversee end-to-end order management and fulfilment operations, ensuring timely processing, dispatch coordination, and client satisfaction.
- Prepare and present weekly MIS reports, sales dashboards, and performance analytics to senior leadership using tools such as Excel, Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.
- Identify gaps in operational processes and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, reduce turnaround time, and minimise errors.
- Manage key client relationships, handle escalations professionally, and ensure high levels of customer retention and satisfaction across the portfolio.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Finance, and Logistics to align sales strategies with operational capabilities.
- Conduct regular market analysis to track competitor activity, pricing trends, and emerging opportunities within the Indian B2B or B2C landscape.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisal of team members in coordination with the Human Resources department.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field; MBA preferred from a recognised Indian or international institution.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in sales, operations, or a combined sales-operations role, preferably within FMCG, retail, e-commerce, or B2B services.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and managing operational KPIs in a structured environment.
- Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Excel, and ERP systems; experience with Salesforce, Zoho, or SAP is an added advantage.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills with the ability to work effectively across hierarchies.
- Excellent problem-solving ability with a data-driven approach to decision-making and performance improvement.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned region as required; proficiency in English and Hindi is essential.
Benefits
- Competitive CTC ranging from ₹6–10 LPA based on experience, along with a performance-linked incentive structure.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage for self and family, including medical, dental, and accidental benefits.
- Structured learning and development programmes, including sponsored certifications and leadership training workshops.
- Five-day working week at select locations with flexible work arrangements and a supportive team culture.
- Clear and transparent career progression framework with annual performance reviews and fast-track promotion opportunities.
