This position is for an Assistant Manager – Buying & Merchandising based in Pune, Maharashtra. The role sits within the merchandising function of a prominent Indian e-commerce organisation and involves overseeing product selection, assortment planning, and vendor relationships.
The successful candidate will be responsible for curating and managing product categories, ensuring optimal stock availability, and collaborating with suppliers to negotiate terms and drive category growth. Strong analytical skills and a sound understanding of retail or e-commerce buying practices are essential.
- Manage end-to-end buying and merchandising activities for assigned categories
- Build and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships
- Analyse sales data and market trends to inform purchasing decisions
- Coordinate with internal teams including marketing, logistics, and operations
- Ensure product listings, pricing, and inventory levels meet business targets
