We are looking for a driven and creative Assistant Brand Manager – India Consumables to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role, you will support the development and execution of brand strategies for our consumables portfolio across the Indian market. You will work closely with the Brand Manager to strengthen brand equity, drive consumer engagement, and deliver measurable business growth in one of our most strategically important markets.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of consumer insights, trade marketing, and integrated communications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, supply chain, finance, and external agencies to bring brand campaigns to life across both traditional and digital channels. A strong understanding of the Indian FMCG landscape and consumables category will be a significant advantage in this role.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building brands that resonate with Indian consumers. You will be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a sharp focus on brand consistency, market trends, and competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of annual brand plans for the India Consumables portfolio, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and revenue targets.
- Conduct regular market research, consumer studies, and competitive analysis to generate actionable insights that inform brand strategy and campaign planning.
- Coordinate with creative and media agencies to develop compelling above-the-line and below-the-line marketing campaigns tailored to Indian consumer preferences.
- Track and analyze brand health metrics, sales data, and campaign performance using tools such as Nielsen, IQVIA, or internal dashboards, and present findings to senior stakeholders.
- Manage new product launch activities including packaging development, trade communication, and go-to-market planning for consumables categories.
- Work closely with the sales and trade marketing teams to develop effective point-of-sale materials, promotional programs, and retailer engagement initiatives across modern and general trade channels.
- Monitor and manage the brand marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of spend and timely vendor payments in coordination with the finance team.
- Identify emerging digital and social media opportunities to enhance brand visibility and consumer engagement among target audiences across India.
Requirements
- MBA in Marketing from a reputed institution; full-time program preferred.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in brand management or marketing within the FMCG, consumer goods, or consumables industry in India.
- Strong understanding of the Indian retail landscape, including modern trade, general trade, and e-commerce channels.
- Proficiency in data analysis and familiarity with market research tools such as Nielsen or Kantar; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are essential.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Hindi or a regional language is an added advantage.
- Experience working with creative, media, or digital agencies to deliver integrated marketing campaigns is strongly preferred.
