About the role
The employer is looking for a diligent and alert individual to join the security team at Mangaluru Airport in the role of Screener. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough screening of passengers, cabin baggage, and hold baggage in accordance with established aviation security protocols.
Key responsibilities include:
- Passenger screening: Operating walk-through metal detectors and hand-held scanners to screen individuals before they enter secure areas.
- Baggage screening: Monitoring X-ray equipment to identify prohibited or suspicious items in carry-on and checked luggage.
- Access control: Ensuring that only authorised personnel and passengers gain entry to restricted zones within the airport.
- Regulatory compliance: Adhering strictly to the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) guidelines and other applicable aviation security standards.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. Prior experience in a security or aviation environment would be an advantage.
